I have a built-in cabinet/shelf unit that is flush against the back wall, and maybe an inch clearance on the sides. There is an enclosed cabinet with front doors that are normally closed in the unit where I want to put a small mini-fridge. I have a few 3" holes thru the back of the cabinet into the wall cavity, and was hoping that would provide enough ventilation for the heat from the fridge. Apparently not enough, since the fridge died after a few months. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to ventilate that enclosed space? Might I need a separate thermostatically controlled fan to circulate air as needed? or would a couple of holes on each side, top and bottom, give me enough ventilation?

Hi, may be the wrong forum but here's hoping I own a 1950s "end to end" duplex that I use for a rental. Very nice place, all brick exterior, tar and gravel room with cathedral ceilings. The bathroom and dryer do not vent outside. Never been a big issue as only couples have lived there but now a family of four is moving in and there will be a lot more action = more humidity. Bthrm and dryer are located at the back of the house in about the middle of back wall. Along the back wall is a sidewalk, then fence. If I direct vent the dryer (which is in the basement) outside, the dryer will ice up the sidewalk in winter. Its about 30 feet to any other wall outside wall. I can't vent the bathroom into the ceiling as there is no access to the ceiling because of the old cathdral ceilings. I think I can direct vent a bathroom fan as the humidity would dissapate before it iced the sidewalk. I need to core the wall and wire, which will be a huge problem. Any ideas?
