"Dead" electric Dryer

Hi all just bought a house - dryer stopped working 2 weeks before closing (wasn't part of the package).

It a Maytag and looks fairly new. They said it stopped working all at once. Went from Great to gone in one day.

I think it may be a switch/fuse in dryer (recepticle as power) as we I pull knob to turn on I get nothing. No hum (Like I get with mine when water is turned off), no sound. Any simple way to check this.

I've done minimal wiring (recepticles/switches/new lights) but never attempted appliances.

Any suggestions?

first unplug dryer then remove the cord cover in the back, many will have bad connections there, it will be obvious if this is the problem. also check the door switch to make sure it is working. I'll need a model and serial to let you know where to look for any fuses
