Maytag dryer buzzer

We have a Maytag Dryer and the buzzer just buzzes at the end of the cycle very quietly. It used to be loud enough to hear in the entire house but now it can only be heard standing right next to the dryer. I pulled the panel open to test voltage, both wires going to buzzer had 38 volts. I would get this reading with either volt meter lead on either wire going in. Does any one have any idea what the problem could be. The maytag store nearby told me the problem was in the motor itself. While I had the panel open i turned the dryer almost off to let it finish cycle by itself and it worked fine one time.

the voltage for the buzzer passes thru the motor and depending on model possibly the timer also. I would look for a loose connection because you should have more than 38v

Be sure to unplug before testing, you could also have a loose cord connection
