If I have 2 dryers the same but on gas and one electric can I take the gas dryer and make it electric from parts taken from the electric dryer? Or will the controls off the gas dryer work on the electric?

I have a rental house with a landlord who will not do anything repair wise. Now the Kenmore washer model # 110.82883800 won't drain the water out of the tub. It will agitate and then when it gets to the drain cycle the hose makes a glug glug noise like it always does right before it starts draining but then does not drain. The dial continues to click and then it starts agitating again but still no draining. I have checked to make sure there were no kinks in the hose and we don't appear to be having other drain problems in the utility/bathroom where the washer is located. Also the switch on the lid has not worked since moved in a year ago. The lid can be up during all cycles of the washer and it will still go. I am attempting to do this myself as we don't have the money to pay someone to fix and with four people and two being small children we have a lot of laundry to do. Also I found a website that wants $14.95 for a direct drive repair it yourself video just wondering if anyone knows if it is worth it? Thanks!
