Kenmore IceMaker Debris

I am getting some very strange debris in my ice on my Kenmore refrigerator icemaker. The problem just started when we moved into our new (old) house. Yes, I have a filter on the line, but we keep getting periodic black "flakes" embedded in the ice, sometimes deep, and sometimes on the surface. Any idea what could be causing this?

Sounds like the teflon coating is coming off the mold in your ice maker. You can remove the ice maker from the freezer to verify. Unfortunately the only way to fix the problem is to install a whole new ice maker which can be pricey.

Hope this helps....
