GE Washer makes LOUD noise in spin cycle

Hello,
We have a GE Washer (Model #: WHSE3100AOWB) that was purchased new in 2001 at Lowe's. Recently it has been making very (VERY) loud noises during the fast spin cycle. It sounds like maybe a bearing or something is failing. And just this evening, my wife spotted some water from underneath the unit. I checked the hoses in the rear of the unit and all are dry. Could it be leaking because of this noisy issue?

Looking for comments and helpful tips on how to determine what is wrong.

Thanks,

Tom

GE Washer

Grab ahold of the tub & see if you feel it seems loose from the tranny. There is a locking nut the can work loose & make tub wobble in high spin.
