Kenmore washing machine model 110.28892790
I have a kenmore Heavy Duty washer. It will fill, agitate, soak, agitate then stop. It will not drain & it will not spin. Lid switch is ok. Drain hoses are clear. Water will drain out of tub if hose is removed from water pump.
Is the washer supposed to drain completely then spin, or does the draining occur as the tub spins?
Not sure if I've got a pump, motor, timer, capacitor or transmission problem. May end up buying a new unit.
Any help?
Thanks for your time.

What happens when you try to start a spin cycle? Nothing? Motor Humming? How did you verify the lid switch is ok? That is the most common repair for a no drain/spin. Any obstructions in the pump itself to prevent it from turning?
After the transmission has "warmed" up during the wash cycle, it is supposed to drain in "neutral" (no spin) then the machine stops and restarts for the transmission to engage the tub to spin.

So you have confirmed one thing: Your drain pump is not operating. Either electrical malfunction or it is stuck. It wil buzz if it has electricity to it, but stuck.
If it is not getting electricity to it, let us know.
