Uh oh... now what? Fridge help please! *pics*

Well I have had this whirlpool ED5VHGXMQ10 for little over two years. My first problem was it was getting very hot between the doors. I cleaned the condensor coils and now all is good. A few weeks ago I noticed some icy build up on my ice box and it turns out the door that shuts to the ice maker on the dispenser was not shutting all the way. I found a small broken plastic piece. Now this piece was part of the main housing which I cannot find in stock anywhere. I was thinking of trying to useing plastic welding/epoxy to get the piece back in. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Here are pics of the door and broken piece.

They make a repair kit that includes a steel bracket and some other parts associated with the dispenser. I can't remember what the part number is off the top of my head though. That is repairable.

Just got home from work. The part number you need is 8201756. It shows to be about $60

Is it different then the 8201649 ice door kit?

Im curiuos how it fixes the problem without addnig some sort of extra bracket. The piece broken off is part of the main housing. I found this link on ebay and the parts it shows I already have and are ok.

The 8201756 repair kit has a steel bracket that sticks with double sided tape to repair the broken hinge

Thanks again! I ordered it and then contacted a guy on ebay who ended up having it for 45$ shipped but I had already placed my order online for 58$... bummer. This guy also mentioned this is becoming a very common problem. Whirlpool should consider this a defect. In no way did we ever force anything on the ice maker chute door. Its always worked great until recently.

I am having the same problem witrh my side-by-side whirlpool GS6SHEXNT00. The plastic pin retainer broke that holds the ice dispenser door in place in the dispenser housing. The housing is not available/not serviceable and I've been told that a whole new door is required. I read in the forum that there is a dispenser door hinge repair kit. model number 8201756. If you have any info as to where I might find such item I would appreciate the help. Also, I was wondering if you could help me verify that this is a reapair kit and not just the chute and door replacement parts. I haven't been able to find a single picture of the repair kit yet. Thanks for yout time. David

That is the correct kit. Here is a link with picture:

Part 1164531 from RepairClinic.com

You don't need a whole door
