Kitchenaid oven door won't close
I have a Kitchenaid Superba convection oven (model# KEBS208DWH8), and the top door won't quite close. There's just a bit of a gap, but it's enough to keep the light on.
The tension springs on the door look fine, it works smoothly, the gasket's not binding, but it just won't close up that last inch or so. The best I can tell is that the little button that's part of the latch assembly is giving the door too much resistance and pushing the door back out, but it's not really sticky or anything.
It looks like others have had this problem, but I can't find a solution anywhere. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Have you solved this or anyone else have a solution? The folded newspaper crammed in the side of the door is just not right.

Kitchenaid Superba Over Door Won't Close
I have the same problem. First the top door did this so, not feeling like paying a repair guys $$$ I started using the lower over. Last night while hosting a dinner party the bottom door started doing the same thing right in the middle of the dinner rolls. Needless to say they finished baking about the time everyone finished their meals!
A handy man friend that was at the party said it's a simple door adjustment and the information should be online. That's what I was doing when I ran into you guys. We did notice that we can grab the bottom of the door and it will pull out about 1/4 of an inch. That would be the problem. Now I just have to figure out how to tighten that back into place.
I also have had several problems with the door latch locking randomly (which it also did last night but not tight enough I couldn't still get it open). These were very expensive appliance and they've been a bit of a headache. Anyone out there from Kitchenaid that can offer some advise / assistance?
Anyway, I'll keep you all posted

Well, the problem returns, this time it's the bottom door. The bottom oven is almost never used, so I don't think anything is wearing out. The springs look OK, and I'm not seeing any worn metal on any moving parts. I wish I could remember what I did to fix the top door, but I know I didn't buy any parts or do any major disassembly.
Obviously this is a problem with this particular oven model. Whoever comes up with an answer will be a hero.

Strange.....in my search of your Kitchenaid (Whirlpool) oven I can only find parts listings for a single door. I see that Whirlpool offers 4-5 different hinges for this series of ovens which leads me to believe that is a common problem. You can't tell how springs are by how they look (other than if they are broken).
I'd have to say the hinge sets are bad...... bad springs or a poor mechanism design.
