We have a 7 year old FL washer which we did the obligatory shock replacement 3 years ago. The problem now is the noise it makes when the drum is turning. It sounds like the noise is coming from the back of the drum.
Doesn't matter if it has clothes in it or not or if you turn it by hand or let it cycle itself. When it's turning slowly it has a slight grinding noise to it. When it's turning fast it could be described as a jet engine either taking off or perhaps on landing when the reverse thrusters kick in. Needless to say we know when the washer is spinning from any room in the house. We've had the lower front panel and top off when it's spinning and we don't see or really feel much vibration.
We'd like to hear thoughts on a diagnosis on this one. We're to the point with this washer where a repair would probably be a DIY and even then we aren't anxious to spend lots on parts.

You will be needing rear drum/bearing and most likely the spin basket... There are alot of post in here about the front loader rear bearing.. just a matter of tackling it and the costs

he basket has a lifetime warranty, no labor or rear tub is included warranty, If you do the job replace front boot at same time, lot of work and heavy
