Unhappy Washer liftoff??

I have an LG front loading washer we've had for a year. I can't take it anymore! Everytime it spins, it feels like the house is going to take off!!! It knocks stuff off the dryer, and I feel like it's lift off. Was it a mistake buying a front loading washer? Can I reinforce the floor with 4x6's to stablize it? Thanks in advance!!

Not an unusual problem with the LG washers. The direct drive motor has a LOT of tork which can cause problems on a second floor (or a first floor above a basement). Make sure the washer is level in both directions and on solid footing. If you push down on any corner of the top, there should be absolutely no movement. You can definitely add floor support if needed. Also, some models have a feature called Spinsense that adjusts the speed of the spin as needed to reduce vibrations. The feature must be activated (washers ship with it turned off) to work, but once activated, will stay active for every cycle. Check your manual.
