Ice maker wont stop making ice and freezing!
So we have a GE profile refrigerator, its ~7-8 years old, with a built in icemaker. lately the icemaker started acting up: it first started dispensing only crushed ice, which I discovered came about from the mouth of the ice bin being frosted over. I also noticed the ice bin was way too full of ice and so i emptied it defrosted the bin and put it back in only to have the same thing happen. the ice bin will completely fill itself overflowing every day or two and once it does that the mouth of the bin freezes over and clogs up, giving only crushed ice or no ice at all. ive tried adjusting the temperature both down and up to no avail and im not really sure what to do from here, the troubleshooting manual is worthless in this case and im not too familiar with ice makers. anybody have any idea how to approach this?
[edit] sorry the fridge model # is TBX22PRBSLBB and i cant quite read the icemaker model # but it appears to say CAN12, but its at a wierd angle that I cant quite see so i may be wrong.
