My Whirlpool washer will fill up, but it does not aggitate or spin. When we pulled out the washer, their was a nice size puddle of oil on the floor.

The model number is LSR8444LQ0

The oil comes from the Gearcase, The reason it's npt spinning or agitating probably the drive coupler is broken, 2 white plastic peices and a black rubber spacer between motor and gearcase.
here is a link to coupler repair http://repair2000.com/coupling.html
and a link to drive components

Hope this helps

The thing is though - you should be able to have a broken coupler without having anything causing oil to come out. Could maybe indicate something most serious causing seizure of machine which then MAY have broke the coupler (designed to break, to protect the machine, like shear keys do for lawn mowers, or couplers between motors and pumps in certain gas or oil boilers).
