Whirlpool dryer heats, drum doesn't spin

Hello,

I have a Whirlpool dryer LER4634EQ2 122-00

Dryer heats but drum does not spin. I took the back off but there does not seem to be access to a belt or whatever turns the drum.

How do I troubleshoot this problem?

Thanks in advance.

UNPLUG DRYER
Your at the wrong end. Take lint screen out and remove 2 screws there. Take a stiff putty knife and put it between top and front panel near the edges and pry up on each side, Top will pop off the clips holding top down, Should be able to see belt now, If belt not there take 2 screws out from front panel , screws are from inside near top. lift dront panel off and drum will drop a little. broken belt will be on floor of dryer.

Once you raise the top, the belt will be visible if it is not broken. If it is not visible then remove the front. If you still have your owner's manual, the pictures in it should help.

i lifted the top off the dryer as per your instructions easily. the broken belt was lying in its normal position along the top of the drum. I simply took it off there. Now, it's Sunday, so tomorrow I'll go get a replacement belt. How do I install the new belt?

Just follow instructions given earlier. Take drum out to see how belt is threaded, , put drum back in and thread the belt through idler and motor. keep dryer unpluged
