amana dryer LE8217w2 throw it away?

I have an amana dryer that does the basic no heating and time will not change in the automatic mode but in the normal mode the timer will run. This i assumed to be the heating element. I opened up the bottom and checked it out and not only was there alot of lint in there. the one orange wire the bottome one was burnt off and crispy. It is not the wire that comes from the power but the wire that comes from the element to what looks like one of the thermal fuses? do you think that this would just be an element gone bad and could be replaced or something that i shouldnt even bother with. I do have a pic if needed.

You will do this with the dryer unpluged of course. This is an easy fix, just replace that wire with a nice heavy new one, or just the connector, shine up that connector on the element so you will get good contact. Next step is to check some reading with an ohm meter on the x1 range, all of those thermo fuses, and heater should check zero or very low ohm. Check from the top orange wire to the top black wire, if you get a reading on the x1 range it is good. This is a common problem.
