Kenmore 80 Series Washer won't fill with cold water
I have a Kenmore 80 Series Washer, Model # 16862503
My problem is that it will not fill up with cold water at all. Only the hot water will work. I checked the hose and the water does come through the hose, but the washer won't let it. I also cleaned the screen but still nothing. Laundry is starting to pile up. Please help!

The valve assembly that lets the water in has two coils on it, one for hot and the other for cold. I would think the coil on the cold water part of the valve is bad. One way to test it is to unplug the washer from the outlet, change the two wires from one coil to the other for a test. Plug it back in and try it again on warm setting, and if you get no cold water then, you know for sure the coil or that part of the valve is bad. Good luck.
