Too many drying cycles
#1

I have a Whirlpool HD 4 cycle/3 temperature dryer, which is about 6-8 years old.The vent is a coil type vent, about 4' straight to the outside vent. The problem i'm having is my clothes are taking 2-3 60 minute drying cycles to get them dry.The dryer is getting hot enough;I can touch it and it's very warm. Also, the clothes feel hot but are still damp after 1-2 drying cycles.Could there be an excessive lint build up inside the dryer causing this?

You need to clean the vent from the dryer to the outside. To test take off the vent tube from the back of dryer and feel the air flow, connect vent than go outside and feel air flow. Should be the same or very close to it. Reason dryer feels hot is there is no air flow and the heat is traped in dryer.
