Kenmore washer lid switch

My Kenmore washes normally, but when it gets to the spin cycle it stops and it won't spin. it won't spin in any cycle. I suspect it's the lid switch. I tried to lift the top penal off but it won't bulge. My question is, do I need to remove the back penal to get to the switch? Your help is greatly appreciated. The Model No. is 110.20912990.

If the washer stops when you lift the lid during the wash cycle, and restarts when the lid is closed, the lid switch is fine.
I would be looking for a broken belt or bad timer.

just pull cabinet off enough to get to lid switch. Old Switch will be opened like a clam shell.
Don't worry about drive coupler just a handy link to take cabinet off.

Kenmore washer lid switch

Hello Pugsl, last night I read your advice and information you provided so this morning after eating breakfast I went to the garage where the washer is and started working. In no time I removed the switch, went to Sears, bought the switch and put it back on. It's working fine. I really appreciate your help very much. Thank you.
