Unhappy smelly fridge....

.....for no apparent reason!!
I feel like i'm losing my mind, but i just moved into a new rental suite, with (allegedly) new apartment-size fridge/stove.
after 2-3 weeks, i started to notice a garbage smell as soon as i walked in the door. I've traced it to the fridge, but there's NOTHING in it that should be emitting a bad odour. I've wiped it out, thrown out all remotely suspect food and put two boxes of flow-through baking soda in it.
Can anyone out there explain to me why it still smells??!!

check underneath the fridge, you might have a dead mouse under there. not uncommon.

if we're not supposed to eat animals why are they made out of meat?

If someone spilled milk in it, or had ice cream melt in it or meat thaw out and the juice ran under the freezer floor or just meet in it that went bad then the fridge is pretty much toast. Try crushing a few charcoal brickettes in a tinfoil pan and throw out every 2 days then repeat for another 2 more times. If still smell have landlord buy you another fridge> It's not good for your health.
