Whirlpool Thin Twin washer/dryer lid switch

The lid switch is loose. I tried to tighten one of the screws, but the nut fell off and is in a place I can't get to. How do I take off the front panel and top of the washer to reconnect the lid switch?

I had to use a screw driver to push down no the lid switch so that the washer would go through the spin cycle. I know that it works.

Thanks,

Donald

Take 2 screws out of front corners of consut. Pull to you and lift up. Unplug lid switch wires in top, right side toward middle. Use screwdriver in gold colored clamps, put in front slot and push driver back clamp will pop off. If there is a plastic plate on left rear take off and unhook hoses, pull cabinet off. replace switch. do not try to repaie switch it will break again. Have new switch ready when you do job. Let us know how repair went.

Between washer and dryer there is a panel. take panel off. reach through hole and in back there are 2 screws that hold clips to hold top on. (5/16 screws) pull top to you to remove. I always tape clips in as they are hard to figular out when they fall out. Going by memory hope I have it right. been a year since I have done one.
