kenmore ice maker leaks

I replaced the water valve. Conditions: With ice maker shut off (Arm Up) and water supply on, it does not leak. With ice maker on (Arm Down) unit leaks from the rear of ice maker. Any ideas?

You have a water adjustment on the icemaker that will change how long the water valve is turned on to let water into the icemaker. If you replaced that valve with something other than ones make for icemaker, you may not be able to have enough adjustments, but otherwise, the adjustment screw is located on the back end of the icemaker. Sometimes you can adjust it without taking the icemaker out, and sometimes not. The back of the icemaker is the end that is not leaking water. The problem is, the icemaker water valve is staying on too long, overfilling the icemaker cavity.
