hard to clean lint trap

Hi Forum,

I have a 4 year old Kenmore 80 Series Electric Dryer - Model 110.62802101 and find it very hard to clean the lint trap. The lint trap is on the top of the dryer, is approximately 7 inches to 20ish inches in size, and slips down into the dryer. Perhaps my lint if too fine or too coarse; or too dry or too wet - I don't really care why I have this problem, I would just like to solve it. The lint rarely builds up nicely to allow for easy removal from the lint trap. The lint trap always looks as if there is still some lint in between the mesh (even after a through cleaning).

Are there any tricks I can use to more easily and completely clean the lint trap? Is there anything I can apply to the lint trap that will make it easier to clean it?

Thanks in advance for any help and assistance with this matter.

Regards,
Andy

Use a wire brush on the screen, the deposit on the screen comes from dryer softner sheets. Be sure to take screen outside when you do it. Let us know how you came out.

Hi Forum,

Thanks for the great advise, I was able to clean the lint trap very easily in my utility sink with soap and a scrub brush. It took a while but came very clean.

Thanks again,
Andy
