Kenmore 90 Srs Washer Clicking while Adjitating

Heres the issue.. At all speeds my washer (slow) clicks while adjitating.. And only while adjitating.. It spins great and everything else functions as it should. Also, while it is "clicking" the lights appear to dim a little. I even tore it down to check out the coupler and it is fine. I also checked the electrical connections and all of those appear to be good.

Ive seen people giving advise on fixes from the motor, to the adjitator dogs, to the transmission, and even the timer.. From anyone that has gone through this, what did the trick?

Have a kenmore heavy duty machine (not sure model), but it had the same issues.. replaced the agitator cams (dogs) just under the agitator cap, fixed it fine (and cheap !).

try it with the agitator removed and see if it clicks then.

usually when lights are dimming though the motor speed selector switch is halfway between positions or the 2 wire connector near the motor(not all have this) is unplugged.

need model # but if your machine has a speed control make sure it is not stuck between speeds. If knob is haft way between speeds if will go have a loud click, click, click , let us know what you find.

Model# 110.20912991. Heres the funny thing.. It used to just do the clicking on the handwash modes and we thought it was normal. Now it is doing it under all speed modes..just a slow click click click. But after it adjitates it spins great. The knob is not stuck between speeds. That was the first thing I checked. Oh, and the lid mechanism is good as well.

Can't think of anything, can you tell were the click is comming from? You can take cabinet off and run in Agitation see if you find noise that way.

This is identical to what mine is doing.. It sounds like the clicking is coming from the bottom of the machine.

YouTube - click click click click click

If its a clicking like in that youtube video, then its not the cam dogs at the top of the shaft as I posted. Pretty subtle clicking when mine did that, plastic sound.. not nearly as dominant.

I think Ive diagnosed it to be an electrical problem although its not the motor. I changed it out and its still doing the same. Its also not the coupler.

I would suspect gearcase. It is clicking at the spot where the agitator should reverse direction.
