garbage disposal question

I have an old Badger 5 disposal. When I activate the switch, the unit hums but does not crush the food.
It turns easily with a hex key and I tried the reset switch several times.
Do I need to replace the unit??

I've never run into that. But it pretty much sounds like if it truly easily turns and does not run, that something is severely wrong there, beyond repair.

Heres the issue.. At all speeds my washer (slow) clicks while adjitating.. And only while adjitating.. It spins great and everything else functions as it should. Also, while it is "clicking" the lights appear to dim a little. :wall: I even tore it down to check out the coupler and it is fine. I also checked the electrical connections and all of those appear to be good. Ive seen people giving advise on fixes from the motor, to the adjitator dogs, to the transmission, and even the timer.. Maytag washer leaking

Model# LAT9200AAW, water is leaking from the plastic injector sleeve. I have looked at a parts breakdown and appears the only serviceable part would be the rubber injector valve as the plastic sleeve or nozzle does not look as though it could wear or fail. I have the PN# PS2019175 I am just curious if it appears my diagnosis is correct and what function this part performs. If there is something else that would cause water to exit the injector sleeve please advise. ThanksRead More
