Defrosting Refrigerator
Hi,
The coils in my refrigerator totally froze up. So much the fan and and everything is totally in need of a complete defrost. I've unplugged it for the time being and removed the Styrofoam sheets in the freezer so they won't absorb any of the water.
But what else do I need to get the fridge working again?
Oh, and to make matters worse, my wife is coming home tomorrow morning with a new baby! HELP!!!!!!!!!

Please post a model number. There are basically three components in the defrost system: Defrost timer or electronic defrost control, defrost thermostat, and defrost heater. These would need to be checked.

Are you in the South, like Florida, maybe?
It could simply have iced up from a humid, damp environment, and simply doing what you did may have fixed you up.
Icing happens here in NE in the dog days of August, especially near the ocean.
If not, go with gdoug
Good luck
