kenmore 69401 series Refrigerator water inside

Our 15 year old kenmore 69401 series Refrigerator works fine but the interior lower sections have standing water in them. The drain pan under the unit is dry. Anybody have an idea? I know there is a drain hose out the back of the unit but do not see any liquids in it.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

You may see a plastic drain cup at the inside upper rear of the fridge section. These usually pull right out. You then would notice that the cup and a section of plastic pipe are cast as one piece. You may find that plugged. And also where it was pushed into, and just beyond, as there is an elbow there, where the tube then heads straight down to the pan.

There are various methods of removing the gook out of the tubing where you can't get at it: Some may take say a 2-3 foot piece of proper size car vacuum tubing, hold it up to the hole, and blow. Someone else may suck up warm water into a turkey baster and blast the clog through. Or an air compressor - maybe compressed air in a can. Or maybe a shop vac.

If by chance all this was not blocked (even tho' ususally that is the cause), then the problem is up higher where the evaporator coils (in the freezer)defrost water drains into an angled catch pan and then drains out a hole in the pan down into that catch cup.

Thanks, I'll take the thing apart to get at the source of the drain system but I have an air compressor and can try to blow it out first. If that doesn't work, then I'll go the take apart route.
