I have a Kenmore Dryer model 110 96590140 that runs but produces no heat. How do find the part needing replacing and fix this problem?

You're going to have to do some electrical testing. First- do you have 240 volts coming to the dryer? Next, look for the tech sheet in the console. You'll need to test the thermal cutoff and the high limit thermostat. The themal cutoff is a one time affair. If those are ok, check to see if you're getting 240 volts to the heating element when the dryer is running. If not, check the motor switch. If yes, pull out the heater and look to see if it failed. The most usual cause is is the thermal cutoff blows because the vent is clogged and the dryer over heats. Parts here:

If you are not comfortable working with live electricity, call a technician but Lordy don't call Sears. They are way too expensive. Let us know what you find. Thanks.

if you have 240 at the terminal should be able to find the problem by measuring the amount of ohms across the components. heater element has about 10 ohms. the others should be close to 0
