Kenmore Dishwasher Flashing Normal Wash light

I have a little over 2 year old model 170324 (just past the electronic warranty time limit) . The Normal Wash light started flashing after completing a wash cycle. I have tried to clear the flashing light by clicking cancel, Start, and every other switch. The dishwasher will not start. It is not locked either. If I hold the cancel light in for several seconds the Cancel light will also illuminate but will not stop the Normal Wash light from flashing.

Try this:

But first try this diagnostics to see if it resets:
The reset sequence used was reported to be the following:
1) Crack the door open.
2) Within 3 seconds press the following sequence - Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry, Hi Temp Scrub, Energy Saver Dry
3) Close and latch the door
4) Press the cancel button (the circle with the triangle in it)

The diagnostic did not do any thing

DaddyJohn, thanks for the reply. I tried what you suggested but
my dishwasher has Pots Pans and Heated dry instead of Hi Temp Scrub and Energy Saver Dry. I tried the sequence you suggested and the cancel light did come on. However when I pressed cancel the cancel light did not go out. I held it for a bit and it started flashing and the Normal light stayed steady for a bit. Then the normal light started flashing again but it seems like there it flashes 12 or 13 times then starts over again. The Cancel light has stayed on. When I pressed it again I counted 13 flashes and then the normal light flashed about the same number of times. It flashes so fast it is hard to count.

Does this mean any thing to you?

look behind the toe kick panel for the tech sheet see if it has fault codes and try running the tests. also, remove the ribbon connector from the control board and clean it with some alcohol. The rubbing kind- he he.

Tech Sheet

the model number of the dishwasher is Model 665.17032402.

I found the tech sheet. It said to go to the diagnostic test to hit heated dry, normal, heated dry, normal. However it would not activate like it suggested. I presume because it is the Normal switch is the one at fault. I will need some more time to check out the connectors so it will have to wait a couple of days. I will get back to you when I am able to clean the contacts. The troubleshooting side of the sheet says that the switch might be shorted or stuck.

Thanks for your help in getting to this point.

Yeah I'm thinking you might have to replace the controller and or the membrane.
