Frigidaire - no spin

Frigidaire FLSGC72GCS6. The wash cycle works and the safety latch engages at start of spin cycle. The water drains but no spin cycle? The Agagator only spins counter clockwise by hand (looking down). The motor spin freely in both directions and is attached to the belt.

At the beginning of the spin cycle, does the motor try to run at all?

I agree with pugsl, you probably have a bad lid switch. If you can't find the wiring diagram on the machine it's here:

Frigidaire Home & Kitchen Appliances, New Appliance Collection

Move your cursor to customer support, on the drop down, click on guides/manuals.

Did you find the wiring diagram? Remove power from the machine, remove the plug from the motor, place the machine in spin, repower machine, test at the motor plug M3 to M6 and M3 to M1 for 120 volts. Remove power from the machine, carefully insert a wire to jumper from M3 to M7, repower [timer still in spin], test from M5 to M1 for 120 volts. Remove power again, remove the plug from the timer, see anything burnt in there? If the motor is not even trying to start in spin, one of the timer contacts is bad or there is an open connection from the timer to the motor.

The motor is a reversing type motor, agitate is one direction of rotation, spin is the other. To change rotation, the ends of the motor start winding reconnected inside the timer. In spin, M1 is wired to neutral and M5 is wired to the hot leg. It looks like one side of the switch at cam 2 is faulty. Just for the heck of it, do a continuity test on the wires from the timer to the motor to eliminate the possibility of a break in the wire under the insulation. The timer part # is 131437500

at Parts & Accessories | Shop & Find Lawn & Garden, Appliance Parts at Sears PartsDirect | SearsPartsDirect.com it's $102.

at D&D | Appliance Parts | Ice Makers | Refrigerator Repair Parts it's $72.

at Appliance Parts Pros.com Discount Appliance Parts Appliance Repair Parts it's $96.

at Appliance Parts from RepairClinic.com it's $100.

btw- for other readers ths is a Frigidaire Stack Laundry Center with gas dryer.

Take the control panel apart, you may have to take the front of the dryer off.
