How do i access the lid switch on a whirlpool washer model wtw5300vww0. i close the lid and do not hear a click. The top seams to be screwed down. can i access the switch from the back or do i need to remove these 2 screws.

stick a putty knife in the front lower outer edge of console from front to release the clips.

have lid raised when you remove and replace switch

i tried that but the top of the cabinet is screwed down from the underside or so it seams. i managed to get one screw loose but i can't get the other one its a tight fit unless the clips are screwed into the top of the cabinet.the screws are in some plastic thing that sits in the walls of the cabinet and then the screws go into the top of the cabinet.

The screws to remove are in the back of the consul. Do not remove any 1/4 " screws there are 2 Philips head in the back conner of the consul that have to come out. they are angled down into the top.. Check the hinge screws and see if they are tight.

well i forced open the top now how do i replace those 1/4 screws to make it look like it was not tampered with. even a repair man would not have been able to remove those 1/4 screws.

yes because there is no reason to ever remove them.

use the putty knife to release the clips and flip the console up. then you can see the clips that hold the cabinet on. remove cabinet. put screws back in you if you didnt destroy it too bad. then put cabinet back on
