Model MAH8700AWW MayTag Neptune Washer wont spin.

Model MAH8700AWW MayTag Neptune Washer.

The pump works and I have checked the hoses going into and out of the pump. I found no restrictions.
The pump will run for a few seconds (10/20 seconds) and then stop, restarting again after a few more seconds.
The drum motor never tries to spin or rotate the drum back and forth as usual.
What do I need to check next.

Lots to check with your washer, Not worth fixing no matter what wrong with it. Take front off and look at motor control board, Toward the back of board lower part there is a resistor that burns out, If bad needs motor and motor control. In control consul look at board there for a burnt resistor, If found you need control board and a wax motor in the lock assy.

It passed the quick spin test. I will look for lose connections and run some other tests tomorrow. Thank you for your responses.

This is the Korean built (LG) Neptune, not the older Maytag style.

I have seen a few door latch problems. Any error codes? Over-sudsing due to using non-HE detergent?

I ran the Quick Service Cycle in the Service Mode the troubleshooting guide described and it passed that and now works fine..... It's magic....or something.....

I now suspect a lose connection and where it is I do not know but as long as it works, for now, I am happy. We really couldn't afford this right now. Thanks for the help and I hope I don't have to come back for a while.....no offense....lol

PS. No codes.

Stopped by the site to look up a water softener issue and thought I would mention the washer is still functioning fine.
Thanks again for the help.
Found the solution for the water softener as well.
Great site. It has been very helpful to me.

need the tech sheet!

I guess the last repairman took it... I've put in a new (Ebay) control board after it burned out from a power outage (even tho plugged into the requisite surge protector.) It runs, just won't hit high speed spin. I need to do some diagnostics. Last place I tried to download the tech sheet had an exe extension. Please help!

Cool

I don't have tech sheets maybe one of the other guys can help. Please Start a new thread (could not move this one)with Model #
Many reasons for no high spin, Bad control board and wax motor, Both should be replaced at same time. Bad motor control board and motor, Comes as a kit. Bad bearings. Not draining. You have a boat anchor.
