Kitchenaid glass top range will not turn off

I have a glass top "drop-in" range from Kitchenaid that has one burner that did not turn off today. The "power on" indicator light went out and the dial "clicked" intot eh off position, but it never cooled. It even cycled on to heat a t one point.

I turned it off and on a couple times and it seems to be cooling now, but I don't tust it. I'll kill power to it before going to bed.

Has anyone seen this? iis it something I can fix myself? I'd put my home improvement skills at about a 7 or 8 out of 10.

I have a 'glass top' gas cook top that sometimes the spark ignitors will keep sparking after the burner is turned off.

Mine are caused because of some dirt or being wet. I just leave them alone and they will stop sparking.
