Thermal Fuse Issues-dryer wont turn on

i have a magic chef dryer model no. CYE3004AYW. I have tested the thermal fuse with a multimeter for continuity and found the thermal fuse to be bad (open). I bypassed the t.f. and dryer turned on. Are there reasons for the t.f. for going bad? The dryer/washer are only 5 years old and were a gift. Is this beginning of more problems?

any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Thermo fuse bows because to much heat. Usual reason for to muh heat is a clogged vent to the outside. Check vent behind dryer and make sure it's not crushed there first.
