post model # take front off and make sure plastic bearings are there and in good shape. Dose the noise sound like it's coming from front or back? UNPLUG DRYER BEFORE WORKING ON IT

Model # is DHD5R46GEOWW.

I don't understand what you mean by "take front off" since it's a front loading machine meaning the door is located on the front of the unit? The noise seems to be coming more form the front of the unit like just behind the door?

PleASE RECHECK MODEL # DID NOT WORK. Open door in top of opening 2 screws, remove screws and top will slide to front and than tilt up and off( sometimes very tricky) look inside there should be 2 screws 1 on each side holding front on. don't disconnect wires unless you mark them, You should be able to see the plastic bearing now.

Yes, that is it, lately what I am noticing is that the squeaking noise is mainly at the startup of a cycle and dissapears after a while.
