I have a Kitchen aid clothes washer that fills and starts washing fine. After the first 10 seconds it stops for a period of time and when its ready it starts washing again. This goes on thru the complete washing cycle. Once it empties, it completes the rest of the cycle fine. What could the problem be? Any help would be appreciated!

True to the last three characters of this model "aww", this little gem is again causing problems. The machine will fill and agitate just fine, but the pump will not drain the tub. The tub will drain in a torrent via gravity, so there's no obstructions. There is a buzzing sound that seems to be coming from the timer, and my wife reported a smell that "smells like motor windings" (she's technical that way). The belts and pulleys seem to be in good shape, and it works aside from starting the drain and spin cycle. Has the timer gone bad, or has the motor or a solenoid called it quits (I'm still researching how this thing works)? Thanks for any advice...
