Question How do I install a water line to refrigerator?

Hello,

We bought a refrigerator with a water/ice maker. They were supposed to install a water line for us but when they came and realized we have no basement they didn't know how to do it so we are left with the fridge and no water line installed.

I did some asking around and was told to check out my flooring in the kitchen which I did & realized if I take the trim off the side of the floor that I can pop the wood type flooring up. I was told that I should be able to cut once the floor is removed and run a water line under there to where it needs to go.

Now I am wondering how I do this & what supplies/tools I need. The fridge is in the corner of the kitchen there is no cabients, sink or anything next to it so I don't know any other options besides this one I have been told for hooking up the waterline.

If anyone can help me it would be greatly appreciated where to start. I can supply pictures if needed. Thanks!

You do not have a basement but do you have a crawl space or are you slab on grade? Could you run a water line through the cabinets to get to the sink?

If I had to run it across a baseboard I'd use surface race (Wiremold) to contain and hide the line. Much easier.
