Kenmore Electric Dryer 417.88042700 - no heat - turns off

I have a 2 year old Kenmore dryer that will start but will shut off. It will work on the "no heat-air dry" setting only. If we select one of the heat options it will turn on and tumble for a few minutes but then shut off. All of the lights on the right side of the panel blink. We can press cancel and start again and the same thing happens. We are not getting any heat but not sure if that is because the dryer is not running long enough to heat up or if it is turning off because something is wrong with the heating element.

All filters have been cleaned including the one outside. We have reset the breaker.

Not sure what else we can do without having to pay a fortune for someone to come look at it.

that dryer has a history of bad thermistor, it will cause your problem,
unplug dryer first
Take off lower panel near center or right side under blower vent you will see a 1/2 dollar sized piece with 2 wires on it. That is thermistor. here is a link to part #15 under motor
