Connect standard clothes washer to kitchen faucet

I'm replacing a clothes washer that was connected to a kitchen faucet. The single hose was connect to the cold water on the back of the machine and the hot water was capped. The faucet and hose have a quick connect adapter. Is this OK?

If you only wash with cold water settings...or you manually adjust the water temp via the faucet, it would work fine.

You'll need to always use cold water settings or it would never fill. Remember to adjust the temp on the faucet to cold for rinsing.

Never saw a regular washer used like that though.....where does it drain?

When I lived in fla my washer was in an out building. I had 1 cold water line piped to the washer with a double tap so the cold water would enter the washing machine thru both cold and hot. It operated like that for 10+ yrs with no problems. I would think if you can run water to both sides [even if it's all cold] your washer would fill faster and there would be no issues if it got turned to hot.
