electric range buzzing

I have a Magic Chef electric range. It is at least 15 years old. (it was in our home when we moved in) there is a whirring/buzzing noise apparently comming from the analog clock. All controls are mounted on the front of the range. The alarm buzzer also randomly goes off no matter if it is set to the off position or not. The only way I can stop this is to shut the range off at the electric box. All dials are facing the 12:00 position.

I found a 2.5 year old post with the same issue on a GAS range and the poster was given directions on how to disconnect the clock. Can I do this on my electric range? Or will I create furter issues since my range does not run on gas. How can I go about disconnecting the clock?
Thanks

I'm sure you can disconnect the clock. Open er' up and snip the wires going to the clock. Cap off the wires so they do not short to the frame of the stove.
