Whirlpool Top Loader LSR5233AW0 Motor does not "whirl" unless I coax
Hi Folks,
Monitoring Person or Administrator, I've been here for many hours and can't quite find much addressing the capacitor/motor issue.
I can fill, wash, drain, rinse, drain and spin.....when it runs. I have checked the coupler in the direct drive and aside from a bit of ware of the isolator the coupler cogs each have their pegs solidly in place. Based upon all I've read, the transmission and gear box are sound. No exterior oil and the drive block is secure and its two tabs are visible.
I OHMed the capacitor and first, got nothing; switched the meter leads and read some then it slowly returned to open(zero). Based on that consulted with the parts vendor and we thought this was plausible issue. However, it's not. When I have the motor on the floor it will still not run unless I move the shaft and find "that spot" it likes. Then it starts and runs. Doesn't sound all that nice.
Rumbles. I'd feel better if it ran smooth and didn't thumpity-thump under my foot.
Have I got one of the rare motor failures (worn out)?
Best we can surmise the machine is 8 years old or more. We've owned it for 5 and by it's appearance the previous home owners may have owned it several years prior. Thank you in advance for the assistance. Best guess is 10 years old but even the manufacture couldn't or wouldn't search the SN to confirm.

Twas the motor! Oooo, Me happy. Telling when I ran it sitting on the floor. Honestly wasn't sure it was spinning; had to lean over it. Spinning smoothly and oh, so much quieter that the old. Thanks for looking in on the original post. John
