Washer not spinning/draining

Kenmore Heavy Duty Model 110. and a larger number 82470120

Our washer is not spinning or draining on any settings around the dial. All it does is make a buzz/humming sound. Where to start? Thanks for any help. BTW, we just got back after a 2 week vacation, but did do a couple loads last night no problem before this occured.

Washer fills and agitates? Sounds like a bad lid switch part # 19 on this diagram

Ok, so how do I test the one in there. I do have a multimeter if that is needed. Also, is there a way to bypass it to see if the thing will spin and/or drain? When the lid closes, you do still hear the click of that switch being pushed down if that matters in diagnosing this problem. Thanks.

Open console (2 screws in front corners ) Lid switch is plugged into top, on right side. Jump 2 wires not the green wire. If it spins you need a lid switch. Or ohm the 2 wires with lid closed should have a circuit.

I took off the 2 wires and jumped them...same result with just buzz/humm sound. I ohmed the switch itself when it was out and it registered some ohmage as well. The thing is filled with water, so I couldn't even say if it fills/agitates. Like I said originally, the buzz is anywhere on the dial. Just been trying to get it to spin/drain.

Are you sure the humming (buzz) is not coming from the motor, If in console it may be timer but usually it is the motor humming, caused by water pump jammed. The way to check is take cabinet off unclip water pump from front of motor. Jump lid switch and put washer into spin, if spins you will need to take pump off and see if you can remove idem (usually a baby sock)

Well something must of broke free, cause in pulling the washer out to just get in and look if there was anything visibly wrong with anything and to hear where it was buzzing, the thing started draining. Been working like normal with no labor. Thanks for the help.
