Frigidaire refrigerator not cooling
Hi there,
I just moved a new to me Frigidaire side by side refrigerator model # FRS23LH5DSR manufactured in 11/05 to my house a few days ago. All I had was a cargo van to move it (about 10 miles) so it was carefully laid on its side for the trip. Then carefully placed in my garage to stand for around 48 hours. I moved it into place in the house tipping it back just enough to roll it on a hand truck then plugged it in. I have been letting it run for about 15 hours and it hasn't cooled even slightly. When we first plugged it in it gave of kind of a odd smell (that I figured was just some left over dust or dog hair under the fridge, although we cleaned it pretty well when it was on its side.) and a few minutes later it made a little pop noise... then quiet except for the fans. I'm not sure if the compressor is kicking on as it is wedged in with my old fridge right now and I can only tell when the old fridge's comp kicks on.
Any ideas????
Thanks so much,
Andrew

Laying a fridge on its side can allow oil to run out of the compressor into cooling lines. I'm not sure about the pop noise you heard, but you may want to pursue a solution starting with resolving the compressor oil thing.
