GE WCVH6800J1 Washer Draing Issue
We washed a bathroom rug and the rubber backing came off in small pieces resulting in the washer not draining. We cleaned out the pump filter several times so that there are no more rug fragments in the line between the tub and the drain filter. I also checked the end of the drain line at the standing pipe and it's not clogged.
The drain pump is buzzing and doesn't drain water. I unplugged the washer, then opened the bottom of the cabinet. I checked the electrical connections and detected no problems. The service manual taped inside states, among other things, "check pump impeller blades and bearing. If evidence of damaged blades, or seized bearings are present, replace the pump." I was able to turn the impeller in both directions about 1/2 turn before it stopped. The impellers don't fell like they're damaged and for the 1/2 turn, the bearings don't seam to be ceased. Before I pull the pump, I thought I'd ask if this was the logical next step.
If it is suggested I pull the pump, what is the best way to do this?
Thanks.

You have rug backing stuck in pump.f you can't clean it out you need a pump. Impeller should turn freely all the around. Slight resistance where it crosses magnets
