Whirpool electric dryer stopped getting hot

My whirlpool electric dryer stopped heating. It still spins just fine. This had happened once before and after taking it apart I discovered that the heating element was broken. I got a new one and it was all good. This time I took off the back and right away saw this. As you can see, the right wire is burned through. The red wire that comes out on top is not in great shape either.

My question is, does it make sense to get a new supply wire and get it working or does this represent a problem that could be more dangerous? Do I need a new dryer?

You need a new supply cord and a terminal block. Block comes with a repair kit for burnt wires. Reason cord burnt was one of the screws was a little loose and caused heat there, Dryer should be OK. Burnt screw most likely welded to nut in back and will not come out.

Even that red wire is OK? Or should I try to trace and replace it?

All you have to do is replace burnt part most likely only 2 or 3 inches. Terminal block will have all parts needed if you get a whirlpool part.
