I've have a Kenmore front load washing machine for 2 1/2 years, model number 110.47512604 type 832. Last week the first problem started when the machine would almost complete it's cycle then just shut off. Only way to open the door was to turn back on, start cycle and stop right away to get door to unlock. Now, it only turns on when it feels like it, then shuts off at no particular point. I've done as Sears told me, and shut the breaker off for a half hour to reset it, but that didn't work. I've been told that it'll be at least $200-300 just for the part. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

We have a Magic Chef 5 cu ft. freezer in the basement. On Friday noticed some of the stuff on the top was partially defrosted. I figured it might not have been closed properly (that happened once before), so I made sure it was and turned up the dial a bit (for colder temp). We went out of town yesterday, returned this afternoon to find a freezer full of defrosted stuff. Power is still on, lights are on, but it's barely even cool in there. Looked at troubleshooting section of manual but wasn't very helpful. What are the obvious culprits? The seal doesn't seem as tight as it used to be, but I'm not sure if that's the issue or not. What else should I check for? So sad. >$300 of meat in there.
