erratic spin cycle - maytag washer, MAV6200AWW

This problem is about a Maytag Atlantis washing machine, model MAV6200AWW.
I posted about another problem (failing to start up after water filling up) with this same machine back in December, 2010. Implemented the fix - a new lid switch - a couple of months ago.
Which fixed the original problem, but now i'm having another problem, which is: SOMETIMES (but not always) when the machine comes to the spin cycle, it stops and does nothing. To getting it going i have to PUSH IN horizotally on the lid (thumping it does not work). Assuming that the lid switch is still good, what else might be wrong with this machine? (btw, when i replaced the lid switch, i also replaced the plunger, the plunger tube guide, and the lid cam)

thank you.

If pushing on lid makes it work I would take the switch apart again and see if everything is seated right.
