Frigidaire fridge problems

Hello all,I have a Frigidaire model FRT045GB apartment size fridge.I bought this unit from our local Habitat for Humanity store knowing that it did not cool/freeze.The interior light comes on so I know that it's getting power. The compressor does not run and I don't hear the fan running.I have pulled the relay(p/n QP2-4.7) and the capacitor(12 uf,+/- 5%,250 vac).I have these parts ordered and will install as soon as they arrive. If this does not fix the problem, what else might the problem be?And just a note-this unit was built in China for electrolux Home products and sold under the Frigidaire name,There are no service manuals, wiring diagrams or replacement part lists for this fridge. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Most major appliances have a schematic posted somewhere inside, on a cover, sometimes even rolled up. That aside.....it sounds like your fridge may be stuck in defrost. I have no idea where the defrost timer it is on that fridge.... possible on the bottom.

I think you may have solved my problem, but not in the way you may think. There is a white molex connector on the wiring harness that is not connected to anything. There are red,Blue,Brown and Black wires run to it and a Purple wire piggybacked of the black running to the compressor overload. The terminals on the timer in the photos are spaced exactly like the molex.I do believe someone has removed the defrost timer.

In the link below I listed the proper one for that fridge. (part # 215846602) I was reading at a few technical sites and apparently that timer is a consistent problem with that unit. That would explain why the part is so inexpensive. Here is an interesting link too.Refrigerator Repair- Replacing the Defrost Timer (Frigidaire Part# 215846602) - YouTube

Hello,Well ive run into a problem. When i went to install the 215846602 defrost timer the terminal blades on the switch are too wide and the 4th offset terminal is offset about a quarter inch too far. The spacing on terminals 1-3 is correct but the blades are too wide to fit the connector.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Strange....the part number I gave you should have been a direct replacement. You can always remove the four pin connector and crimp on four new individual terminals. My only thought is that since it won't plug in directly that by some small chance the order of the terminals may be wrong. That part should have the numbers 1-4 on it. Did you locate a schematic somewhere on the unit ?

I could not find a schematic anywhere,I've talked to both Electrolux and Frigidaoire tech support and apparently the Chinese factory has never supplied any documentaion for this fridge. The spacing on terminals marked 1,2 and 4,which is the power and contact terminals is correct. The blades are just too wide to fit the connector. The number 3 terminal, the motor terminal,is offset too far to fit the connector.I guess I could find a connector off of another fridge and splice it in,unless you know of another part number for a different switch.

I'm checking further right now.

On edit: I've looked at the 4-5 different timers available for Fridgidaire units and from the pictures in the book I have all the terminals look to be the same size and spacing. That part is also the only one I can find that says it replaces Electrolux and Fridgidaire units. At this point you may have to settle for that one and do your own custom wiring. There should be a little diagram on the unit.
