Dryer Thermal Fuse

My Dryer Thermal Fuse is blown. it is labeled 309 Degrees. So I order Kit 279816 which stated the fuse was 309 degrees. But when I got the fuse it has 325 degrees stamped on it.

Is this O.K. Is this the wrong part.

Most likely not a problem. Model # and make please can help better. Clean vent tube to outside or you will be replacing it again.

model ler5638.

The thermal fuse is labled part number 3977393 and 309 degrees.

The new replacement came in a package with a lable 279816 309Fuse l250-80 Limit. Yet the fuse is stamped 325degrees and that is the only stamp. Also the new fuse is white and the old one is black.

One thing when I look at Amazon online, shown below, the coloring, labeling and even the rivots looks like my old fuse, but the one I received as the 297816 kit is
slightly different in color, rivot and etc.

Companies discontinue and sub parts all the time. It's mainly based on current vendors.

The new part you received is perfectly acceptable to use. Sometimes if they find a particular value opening too soon they tweak the rating. They may have had a large amount of the 309 degree switches opening too soon....due to manufacturing differences or design in the dryer. Switching to the 325 probably reduced the problem.
