ge spacemaker dryer, electric, squealing in part of rotation
Squeel gets louder and more continuous as dryer runs, maybe with heavier load and more heat is worse. Have looked down on drum from above and below with no obvious place to scrape, can't pinpoint sound. drum seems fairly round as it spins. Belt is in good shape and no obvious problem. no loose screws inside drum. Unit is level. can't find any scrape marks on casing. could it be a ballbearing? any other trouble shooting suggestions appreciated.

Please leave us the model number.
Usually there are two drum support rollers that are mounted to the back of the dryer and the drum rides on them. They can sometimes be lubricated with a high heat grease or are fairly easy to replace.
Try to determine if the noise is coming from the front or back of the dryer.

Need model # Is your dryer mounted above washer?? If it is you need to lube or replace bearing behind drum. Usually all it needs is to be lubed depending on how long it has squeaked. and worn plastic bearing, Dryer comes apart from front.
