Freezer Drain Clog

Do not know if this is correct FORUM but, here goes. My upright freezer drain continually clogs and of course of water cannot drain. I get out my blow drier and ice pick, remove ice and thaw the drain, I have been putting 1 OZ of household bleach down the line monthly and this works for a few months and then I repeat the thaw process. Is there a drill operated mini-snake out there that i can use to clean the drain hose periodically?

Is it the hose or the drain pipe that is clogging?
What shares the same pipework?

I can't see the water from the freezer clogging up the drain on it's own. Something else is causing you issues.

Do you have an upright refrigerator freezer combo or is this an upright freezer?

She is a upright freezer and the drain cavity is at base of defrost area, tray takes water to drain hole. from drain hole water goes vertically down to connect to a flexible tube that carries water to a tray under the freezer, I suspect constant blockage of the flexible tube, however I run bleach down the entire system monthly. I considered a piece of #12 copper wire hooked over the defrost device and run down the drain hole, but in my case the defrost device is GLASS and i an a bit antsy about hooking a piece of wire over the Glass tube (do not wish to fracture). I is a real PITA to go in and chip ice, defrost hole, snake a piece of string trimmer line length of tube every few months.

If you suspect the culprit is the flexible line I would replace it. You can get inexpensive vinyl tubing at most home centers. For a couple dollars you might take care of the problem or at least eliminate the tubing from the list of possible problems.

Some defrost lines are heated to prevent that problem.
